Anil Kumble was born on 17 October 1970. He Started his International carrier In International Test Cricket against England at Old Trafford on 09 August 1990. He had played 120 test matches. He had 578 test wickets in his name which is third highest total in International Cricket. His best performance is 10 for 74 against Pakistan. He had taken 5 wicket in an inning 33 times and 10 wickets 8 times. His average is 28.66 with a vary low economic rate of 2.66. He had also contributed well with his bat he had a total of 2236 runs under his belt With a highest of 110 which he scored against England Last year in 2006. His batting average is 18.03 with strike rate of 39.06.

Anil Kumble Started his One Day International carrier against Sri Lanka at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium on 25 April 1990. He had played 271 ODI . He had taken 337 wicket. With the best of 6 for 12 runs. He has average of 30.91 with economic rate of 4.31. His batting contribution is in limited over game is also good. He had 936 runs under his belt with average of 10.54 and strike rate of 61.07. People still remember his match winning contribution in Titan cup against Australia when he and Javagal Shrinath won the final of titan cup for India.

Anil Kumble has taken retirement from One day International and now concentrating only on Test cricket. His dream come true when he was announced the Captain of Indian test team against Pakistan for a three test series. He had done so well as the captain of India. He is leading the team 1-0 in the series.
